In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to create 3 different types of cool badges. I’m going to use Photoshop CS4 and hopefully will make this very easy for you.
The first type of badge I’m going to create is star shaped badge with rounded corners.
First of all, open a new document in Photoshop. Choose the polygon tool and go to the “Options bar” on the top.
Set the amount of sides you want for the badge. Here I’ve set mine to 7. In the “Polygon Options” make sure that all the options are checked and leave the “Radius” field empty. Set the “Indent Sides By” option to about 30%. These are the options that will make the badge look just like the one I’ll create. You can keep experimenting with them and create new shapes.
